WISDOM FOR THE DAY DEVOTIONAL

TOPIC: BE HUNGRY FOR THE WORD
“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.” – 1 Peter 2:2 (KJV)
Beloved, be a stickler for the Word. Be hungry for it. Feed on it voraciously. The Word of God is your life source and sustains your relevance in every season. Some ministers are only relevant for a time, but when you live by the Word, you remain fresh and fruitful throughout your life and ministry.
I once told God, “The day I will become a ‘used-to-be,’ call me home.” I refuse to be a relic of past glory. You should too. Why should anyone say of you, “He used to be powerful,” while you are still alive? What they are really saying is that your spiritual vitality has died.
I challenge you: Stay with the Word! Don’t be among those who attend countless conferences, yet never truly grow or come to the knowledge of the truth. Scripture warns of such people; “Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” – 2 Timothy 3:7 (KJV)
The real power you seek is in the gospel. The gospel itself is the power of God. Jesus said, “Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.” (Matthew 22:29 KJV). If you do not know the Scriptures, you cannot know the power of God. You will misinterpret His Word and misrepresent His nature.
Many today stand on pulpits preaching error, using manipulation, emotional control, and even spiritual intimidation to influence people. And sadly, many cannot discern that it is wrong, because they equate results with divine approval. But hear this, any result that originates outside the gospel is not power, it is magic.
From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible speaks of one person; Jesus Christ. In the Old Testament, He appears in types and shadows; in the New Testament, He is revealed in fullness. The entire focus of Scripture is Him!
That’s why Paul declared to the church in Corinth: “For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.” – 1 Corinthians 2:2 (KJV)
Beloved, keep your eyes on Jesus. Keep your heart rooted in the Word. Stay hungry, stay teachable, and stay in pursuit of truth. That’s how you stay fresh, relevant, and full of grace in every season.
