WISDOM FOR THE DAY DEVOTIONAL
By Bishop Mike Okonkwo
SUNDAY 15th MARCH 2026
TOPIC: EMBRACE THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, but is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:” – 2 Timothy 1:9‑10 (KJV)
Beloved, long before the world began, God had already planned and prepared everything concerning the new creation. All that pertains to your destiny and purpose was hidden in His heart.
But now, through the appearance of our Saviour, Jesus Christ, it has been revealed. He has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.
This is why the gospel must be preached. If you do not proclaim it, people cannot hear it. If they do not hear it, they cannot receive it. If they do not receive it, they cannot be saved. Salvation is not dependent on avoiding sin, being moral, or achieving perfection, it is entirely dependent on receiving Jesus Christ and the price He paid.
Notice carefully: being a drunkard, a thief, an adulterer, or a fornicator does not send anyone to hell. These sins are serious and must be repented of, but Christ has already paid the penalty for them. The only thing that can separate anyone from eternal life is refusing to accept His sacrifice and grace.
God has prepared a table for you. The napkin is ready, your fork is in place, and your seat is reserved. Everything has been made ready, yet some remain hungry because they refuse the invitation. The table is set, but the invitation must be accepted.
Beloved, God loves you so dearly. He does not desire that anyone should perish. But the responsibility is on you to embrace the gospel, accept Christ, and step into the life and immortality that He has provided.
