WISDOM FOR THE DAY DEVOTIONAL
BY BISHOP MIKE OKONKWO
WEDNESDAY 29th APRIL 2026
TOPIC: GOD IS GRACIOUS
“Unto me, who am less than the least of all the saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ.” Ephesians 3:8 KJV
I have preached this gospel for over 50 years. But in the past 10 or more years, God began to open my eyes to the message of grace. I was like some of you, I said, how can God not behold iniquity? I felt like removing that part from the Bible. I said that God must see sin. With all these crimes people are committing, and God is not seeing them?
So, I rejected the revelation initially, but God knows my heart. I am a stickler for the Word of God. Once I see it in the Bible, it is settled. I do not care what you think about it.
Some people thought Brother Mike had backslidden, and I was laughing at them. In fact, I am praying for them to see. I told them, don’t pray for me. I am the one praying for you.
God said to me, Son, go and study it. And I was hungry and humble enough to study it diligently. I discovered that I have been preaching the wrong thing. I discovered that God is indeed gracious, and He deals with the believer on the platform of grace. There is, therefore, no need for any preacher to go about frightening believers all over the place.
So, I made a commitment to change. I began to study the Bible with a new perspective. I got every material I could get concerning grace. And I began to put them line by line with the Scriptures. My mind began to undergo renewal.
And God said, son, are you going to obey man or me? I said, I want to obey you. He said, go and preach it. It is not your reputation that is on the line, it is my reputation. And I started preaching it because it is the end-time message.
May your eyes of understanding be fully enlightened that you may fully embrace the message of grace.
