THE WORD OF GRACE BUILDS YOU UP

“And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.” (Acts 20:32 KJV)
When Paul was going to Jerusalem, he looked for who to hand over the Church at Ephesus to. He looked for someone who would keep them away from sinning and make them love God more. And he handed the Church over to the Word of His grace.
Paul did not commit the Church to the Word of God’s judgment, he committed the Church to the Word of His grace. The Word of Grace is what builds you up and gives you an inheritance. In other words, without grace, there is no inheritance.
God calls you sanctified! But you will be shocked to know how many believers still refer to themselves as sinners. You are either a sinner or a saint. You cannot be both or in between. But I submit to you that if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation, old things are passed away and all things shall become new. God sees you as a new creation. Those who are in Christ are blood-cleansed, washed and sanctified. God doesn’t see iniquity in them.
Do you know what God wants you to do under the Covenant of Grace? He wants you to take your eyes away from yourself. You don’t have anything to offer. Just put your eyes on Jesus. He is the one who has obeyed for you. He is the one who died for you. He is the one who went to hell for you. He became who you are so that you can become who He is. The more you hear about the cure for sin, the more you love God, and the more you won’t want to commit sin. The Word of Grace builds you up. It shows you the reason for Christ’s death and also shows you the benefits of Christ’s death.
