THE WORD WORKS
By Bishop Mike Okonkwo

Thursday 16th March 2023

“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” John 6:63 (KJV)

At the beginning of this month, I took time to emphasize the word of God. Beloved, if you desire to walk in victory, you must learn to say the same thing the Word says because the Word works!

When you wake up in the morning, make your declarations in agreement with the Word. Declare that new things are coming to you because God has said in His Word that He will do new things.

“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth…” (Isaiah 43:19 KJV). Don’t try to understand the ‘how’ but take it from me, it works. I have experienced it.

I recall when we started the building project of the International Headquarters of the ministry, I didn’t know where the resources to finance the project will come from. Yet, persistently, I was standing on the ground and speaking the Word and it worked. I knew I had heard from God. I knew the building was according to His will, but I had no clue where the money would come from. Still, I spoke the Word. That was all I knew to do, and it worked. I would go to the building site every morning, raise my hands and speak the Word and gradually, God brought the resources through the people, whose hearts He had touched.

Beloved, this is not the time to close your mouth. A closed mouth is a closed destiny. Use your mouth to declare the Word. “Where the word of a king is, there is power…” (Ecclesiastes 8:4 KJV). You are a king! No power anywhere can challenge your authority in Christ.

In praying, speak! There is power in your words. Give voice to the word of God. There is power in “it is written”. Jesus overcame the devil by declaring what is written. The Word of God! What is written has power. But that power in what is written is released through words spoken from your mouth.
