BELIEVERS HAVE AN EDGE
By Bishop Mike Okonkwo

“And Pharaoh said unto his servants, can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?” (Genesis 41:38 KJV)

When you talk about edge, you are talking about the thin sharp side of the blade of a cutting instrument or weapon. It is an impressive position or advantage. Likewise in Christ, you have an advantage. You have an advantage to lead the pack, in spite of whatever the challenges are.

Under the present circumstance and situation that we find ourselves in the world globally, what edge do we have? What is our hope? How will you be able to take advantage of the present circumstance and current situation? What will make you stay on top? What will make you lead, for others to follow? How can you outrun with the chariots?

At times, when you look at the challenges around you, it is so easy to think that you are helpless. But the more I read the scriptures and study God and His relationship with man, the more I see that God has always purposed that His children lead and dominate, irrespective of the situations and challenges. Look at the life of Christ: He was never overwhelmed by any challenge. He was always in control. He was never anxious and was never depressed over anything. He always knew what to do.

The book of 1 Chronicles 12:32 tells us that the sons of Issachar understood the times and the seasons they were in, and they knew what to do. And there were leaders among them. Also, talking about Joseph, how did a young man, sold into slavery, become so powerful? Remember that as a slave, he had no property. Absolutely nothing, when you also consider that he went from prison straight to Pharaoh’s palace. How was he able to commandeer the world power of his day, Egypt? How did he become the most influential person in Egypt, galvanizing the entire nation? Know this: his edge was that God was with Him. Beloved, God is not only with you, He lives in you, therefore, you cannot fail.
