TOPIC: ARE YOU HUNGRY FOR JESUS?
“In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.” – John 7:37 (KJV)
Beloved, it is a great privilege to serve God, a rare honour to be called as an instrument in His hands. The call of God is glorious and fulfilling. Never abandon it in pursuit of the temporary things of this world.
In 1981, I had the privilege of travelling to the United States of America to attend Morris Cerullo’s School of Ministry in San Diego, California. I had just finished my wedding, and the very next day, I boarded a plane for the United States. I stayed there for several months, hungry for Jesus, nothing else mattered.
I always sat in the second row during every session because I didn’t want to miss a thing. I wanted to be as close as possible to the Word.
Beloved, are you hungry for Jesus? Do you still thirst for His presence?
When the program ended, many of my friends decided not to return to Nigeria. But I made a different choice. I said to myself, “If what works in America cannot work in Nigeria, then it is not real. If the power of God is localised, then it is not genuine.”
So, I packed my bags and returned home, hungry for God and eager to be used by Him. Everything you see today in our ministry is the fruit of that hunger. It began with an intense desire for God. That hunger shaped my focus, strengthened my resolve, and directed my purpose.
Child of God, how hungry are you for God? Do you understand the weight and glory of your calling? Don’t let anything derail you. God never calls a man to leave him stranded. I have never been stranded anywhere in the world, not because of my title, but because I discovered my identity in the Word of God.
When you know who you are in Christ and remain hungry for Him, you will never lack direction. Stay thirsty. Stay yielded. Stay hungry for God.
