CHANGE THE WAY YOU THINK
By Bishop Mike Okonkwo

“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…” Proverbs 23:7 (KJV)

The way you think, is the way you are going to function. To change the way you function, you must change your thinking. To change your thinking, you need to receive the word of God into your heart. You need to constantly meditate on the word in order to change your thinking.
In the book of Luke 6:45, the scripture tells us: “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.”
If you are not filled with good things, when you’re about to bring forth or speak, you will speak the wrong thing. And you will receive the wrong thing because death and life are in the power of the tongue.

Beloved, meditate on the word. Spend time in the word of God. That is part of the labour that you are supposed to undertake. Begin to appropriate the word to yourself. That was what God told Joshua: “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”(Joshua 1:8 KJV)

Meditate there-in, day and night. In other words, let it fill your thoughts. Let the word transform the way you think. Let the promise of God that you are standing upon and the things you are expecting fill your thoughts. In the morning, afternoon and night, meditate on it. Believe it, never doubt it. Think on the true word of God. Don’t think negative things. Think of the promise! Think of the assurance! Think of what God spoke. Think of the prophetic declaration made over your life. Stop thinking about the stories made on social media. Many of them are not true. Stop looking at them. Spend time in the word of God. Read the bible. Listen to the word of God and you will constantly renew your mind.
