CHOOSE TO PROFIT

“Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.” Psalm 127:1 (KJV)
Our text today is so profound because it tells us how not to beat about the bush. If you choose to listen to Him, you will profit in all your endeavours.
God always has our best interest at heart. All we need to do is to sit at His feet listen to His word and enjoy daily and fresh communion with Him. The only way to get the word into your life is through the study of the Word. The word of God is all you need as the anchor to profit. This does not mean that you fold your hands, but rather that work in line with the word of God. As you follow His leading, He will make you prosperous and cause you to have good success.
Isaiah48:17 “Thus said the Lord thy Redeemer, Holy One of Israel; I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go’’
We are constantly bombarded with things to do every day like house chores, catching up with some friends on phone, and watching favourite programs. For today, it is going through Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram, Twitter, and other social media platforms, and before you knew you have spent hours and you have no time for the word of God.
You must understand that when you make the right choice, most of these things will still be handled. Jesus said to Martha who was busy trying to serve Jesus. “Martha you are worried and troubled about many things, But ONE THING is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part which will not be taken away from her’’ (Luke 10:41-42). The good part was that Mary sat to draw from Jesus Christ. When you make a choice to draw from Jesus you will be successful.
Take a quality decision today not to allow the devil to distract you from the word of God. Allot time to studying and meditating on the word and keep faith in the appointment, prioritise it and you will profit.
