DEPEND ON THE GRACE OF GOD

“And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace.” John 1:16 KJV

We live in a corruptible world where everything is failing and collapsing. Several times, we have seen that no matter how good technology is, it has a margin for failure. Whatever man is involved in has a margin for failure because man is not infallible. So, if that’s what you’ve been depending on, you will be disappointed. You must learn never to depend on human efforts. When it comes to our relationship with God you must depend absolutely on grace. You don’t approach Him based on your performance. You have to connect to grace to enjoy your walk with God.

Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with performing. There’s nothing wrong with being in church services, studying the Bible, being committed in the church, fasting, praying and giving to God. You need all these to grow. They are all very important in your life’s journey as a believer. But if that is where your absolute confidence and faith lies, I can assure you that you can’t go very far because they have limits. That is the reason you have to connect to grace.

You will be shocked how many people are dependent on these things only to be disappointed in the last minute and get offended. At the very point of need, they are disappointed because they were rooted in the wrong things. Your focus should be only on one person: the person of Jesus. He is the only one that can never fail. Every other thing can fail but Jesus can never fail. “And of His fullness have we all received, and grace for grace.” In other words, we live off His generosity. It is grace upon grace! He released His Grace to us not based on our performance or because we are good. He blesses us not because we performed. He blesses us not because we have achieved anything. He does it because He is good and does good (Psalm 119:68).
