DEVELOPING YOUR GIFT

“A wise man is strong; Yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.” Proverbs 24:5 (KJV)

One of the things we must do is to acquire knowledge intentionally. While I know that prayer is important and as a proud and living TREMite, you know that prayer is key in TREM, we must learn to add works to our faith. James said show me your faith without works and I will show you my faith by my works.

Like I always say, any prayer that puts sole responsibility of the performance on God is irresponsible – there is always the God-part and the man-part. You have a part to play in making a formidable impact in the world for the kingdom. The question is are you ready and willing to pay the price?

If you want to be an accountant, prayers alone will not do it. You must go to school, study the right course, graduate, go for the professional exams, qualify and nothing can stop you. So, what is the part of prayer, prayer opens your understanding, prayer activates the grace to be the best, it gives you the edge to have understood more than your teachers. But you must get the relevant certifications. Yes pray, but with your prayers, get the required training. This is what our scripture for today is saying: A man of knowledge increases strength. The New Living Translation says: “… those with knowledge grow stronger and stronger” Do you want to go stronger? Do you want to make a formidable impact? Then gain knowledge.

Secondly, don’t just go through school acquiring head knowledge, be interactive, be open, develop your mind. Exercise your mind, engage in creative discussion. Never stop learning take advantage of technology. Be at the cutting edge of all that is happening in your industry. Be deliberate to know something about everything, be broad and then know everything about your specific area of qualification. Spend time to acquire knowledge and be ready to deploy it whenever the opportunity presents itself. Don’t wait for the opportunity to come before you prepare, be prepared so that when the opportunity comes, you will be ready. I will hear your testimony.
