DON’T LISTEN TO THE DEVIL

“And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:” – Genesis 3:2 (KJV)

Beloved, scripture warns us in the book of Genesis 3:1: “Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made…”. God deliberately began this chapter by describing the nature of the enemy: subtle, crafty, and deceptive. Why? So you can discern his tactics and not be ignorant of his devices.

The moment Satan, disguised as a serpent, slithered onto the scene, he attacked God’s Word. He questioned it. Twisted it. And unfortunately, Eve engaged him in conversation. That was the beginning of her fall. God never called you to negotiate with the devil. When you engage him, you open the door for confusion and deception.

Jesus made it clear who Satan is: “He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” (John 8:44 KJV) The enemy’s strategy has not changed. He still aims to twist God’s Word in your heart. He whispers:

“Are you sure God said He will heal you?”

“Are you sure you’re truly forgiven?”

“Are you sure God will show up for you?”

Don’t listen to him! The longer you hang around the devil’s whispers, the closer you get to doing his bidding. Eve made the mistake of hanging around, and the consequences were disastrous. Flee the devil’s voice! Counter his lies with the truth of God’s Word. Declare it boldly. Believe it relentlessly.
