FAMILY: GOD’S CREATION
By Bishop Mike Okonkwo

Saturday 4th February 2023

“Therefore, shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh” Genesis 2:24 (KJV)

The love of God for man is so much that God wanted man to be as comfortable as possible. His idea for man was to live a happy and fulfilled life. This explains why at creation, when God brought all animals to Adam and he successfully named each one, God saw beneath the success of the assignment, the void in man, and without Adam’s request, God realized that man needed company and brought out the woman from the man.

Today, we see all sorts of pervasion going on. The idea of the family has been so bastardized that many are forming the impression that it is better to be single than married, but that is a lie from the pit of hell. When God instituted marriage, it was for the enjoyment of mankind. When He brought Eve to Adam, she was to complete and complement him and that plan has not changed millions of years after. Remember, everything God made is good and has no evil in it, but the pervasion of man has brought about several variations that have caused more pain to humanity than man would want to admit.

If you are married, I implore you to go back to the manual and see God’s purpose for the home and trust Him all the way for the purpose to be fulfilled. However, if you are not yet married, do not be afraid to marry. Marriage is honourable. Despite the pervasion, marriage is desirable. Marriage is a blessing. God created the institution for both the man and the woman to enjoy life to its fullest. God desired that together you can do more than you will do individually. God desires that your home will reflect His love for the church.

If you are married or thinking of marrying, be guided by the manual, the Bible, and your home will be all that God has ordained it to be.
