GIVE YOUR CHILDREN SPIRITUAL FOOD EARLY
By Bishop Mike Okonkwo

TUESDAY – JUNE 24 2025

“And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.” (Deuteronomy 6:6-7 NKJV)

Beloved, begin now to give your children spiritual food. Don’t say they cannot understand or I will wait until they are teenagers. Start now from day one, because there is a way spiritual things are transmitted to them, even though they might not grasp the full import. You should be able to speak the scriptures to the child you are carrying in your hands and even in your womb. They have a way of understanding what you are saying, because it is spirit communicating with spirit. So do not say it is too early. It is never too early to begin to give a taste of spiritual things to a child.

Most times, children do not know how to make decisions. So, they need to be helped in their decision-making. The idea of leaving them alone to make important decisions will not help them. Remember the Bible says to train up a child in the way he should go. That is, give him a taste of the things you want him to become. When they learn early that there are certain things they should accept and some they should not accept, they will know the right decision to make when it matters.

You should also guard the words they speak, because there are certain things that should not proceed out of the mouth of a child. When you notice those unwholesome words that they pick up outside, correct them, tell them not to speak in that manner because they are royalty, kings and queens and should carry themselves in that manner. Additionally, don’t forget to guard the type of company they keep because evil communication, corrupts good manners. Finally, don’t dim the light of your children, don’t talk down on them or allow them to talk down on themselves because they are children of God.
