GOD HAS PROVIDED BETTER THINGS FOR YOU
By Bishop Mike Okonkwo

“And all these, having obtained a good testimony through faith, did not receive the promise, God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us.” Hebrews 11:39-40 (NKJV)

Chapter 11 of the book of Hebrews is described as the hall of faith because it chronicles the exploits and the miracles of the saints of old as the power of God moved in their lives. And many of us will truly desire to see such experiences. Certainly, many will desire to be used by God to shut the mouth of lions and to quench the violence of fire.

With all the wonderful testimonies, these saints were not permitted to obtain the promise. All the great and mighty things they accomplished were based on the promise. It was not based on reality. They wrought wonderful things! But it was all based on the promise. It was based on the promise of the Messiah.

If the saints of old could walk in that dimension of glory, based on a promissory note, how much more you, that have the real thing now. Yours is not a promissory note. You have Jesus in you now. It is no longer a promise, it is the reality. Christ in you, the hope of glory. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV)

Now that you have the reality of the promise, you must never settle for a life of defeat. All the shortcomings, disappointments, failures, fears, and delays are passed away. The Greater One lives in you now! “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” (1 John 4:4 KJV)

Go and take that city! Go and possess that land! Your land will answer you! Your voice will not be silenced! You are already a carrier of glory! It is a glory that excels and a glory that is powerful. It is impossible for you to fail.
