GRADUATE TO THE THINKING ROOM
Dr. Mike Okonkwo

“This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.” John 8:6 (KJV)

You must begin to think for yourself. God will not do it for you. You have to do it. He said ‘meditate on these things so that your profiting may appear to all.’ At redemption, we were endowed with wisdom, but it is by taking responsibility for your thoughts that you will make the wisdom answer to your situation. Potentially, as a believer, you have wisdom: the mind of Christ, but it will never function until you begin to work it out. Christ has been made unto us wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption (1 Corinthians 1:30).

One of the problems we have is that we are always trying to run away from responsibilities. You do not have an excuse for mediocrity. The prayer room is okay. But also graduate to the thinking room because that is the medium through which God will speak to you and challenge you to go unto a higher height.

In John Chapter 8, we see Jesus, He was thinking. They brought a woman caught in adultery to Him, trying to trap Him. They said, ‘we caught this woman in adultery, in the very act, what do you say? ‘He stooped and began to write. He was thinking, asking God what to do! ‘These people are trying to trap me. Tell me what to do so as to get out of this situation.’ And instantly, the answer came. He got up and said: ‘I agree with you, she should be stoned. But if there is anyone among you who is without sin, let him cast the first stone.’ One by one they left.

God was saying to Jesus; ‘preach to them that this is not law but grace.’ And because they knew that Jesus had not committed any sin, they all left. Jesus looked at the woman and said, ‘neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.’ It came through thinking. Do you know that today’s society has changed radically? Great minds are celebrated today.
