TOPIC: JESUS IS THE MESSAGE
“And I brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. For I am determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.” 1 Corinthians 2:1-2 KJV
Beloved, salvation is all about Jesus. That is why your witnessing must change. When you go to witness about Christ, what do you preach? Do you go and tell them to give their heart to Christ, or do you tell them stop smoking, stop drinking, stop womanizing? Until you stop all these things, you will not be saved.
The truth is that sinners sin. Why should you be surprised that a sinner sins? Sinners sin because they have the nature of sin. They don’t know any better than to sin. So, why are you coming to tell somebody who is a sinner not to sin? Why should you be surprised that he is sinning? What he needs is the alternative.
Brother Mike, what am I supposed to tell them? Tell them that with all their sins and atrocities, God still loves them. He has paid for their sins. Tell them to come the way they are. Christ has paid, not that He will pay. He has already paid. So, all they need to do is to receive. Believe that Christ paid and receive what He paid for. That is it!
If we change our method of evangelism, our churches will be jam-packed with people. But we go out there and add what God did not say. You cannot save anyone. He is the one who died, and He is the one who told you, let them come as they are.
Remember, it is all predicated on what Christ has finished. The Christian journey begins from: “It is finished.” Your role is to believe what He said and receive. That ends the story!
And never judge your standing with God by your behavior, but by what Jesus did for you. If you use your behavior, you will reject your standing. Use your standing in Christ to judge your behavior. Regardless of your mistakes, stay on your standing, because it is eternal.
