LET THE WORD DEFINE YOU

“But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.” Isaiah 43.1 KJV

It was Winston Churchill that said that what sets a man apart among equals is the fact that he goes from one failure to the other and still has the brutal audacity to stand, refusing to let go. You may take a beating in life, but you must never agree to stay down. Stop interpreting your life by what you are seeing now. If you know how many times I have failed, you will know that mistakes do not change your identity.

Many are changing their identities repeatedly and wondering why it’s not working. Just accept the Word of God. What I am saying is that the word “salvation” is a very rich word that conveys the idea of victory in all areas of your life. Once you are saved, you already have it. You have victory over sin, disease, fear, and anything contrary to the will of God for your life. God guarantees your ability to control, and He gives you protection and control of your space. No one has the authority to change your identity. Not even your problems.

How did we get saved? Romans 10:9-10 says: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart, man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (KJV).

We believe in the Lord with our heart and confess him with our mouths. If you know that, then simply apply it to every other thing you receive from God, not just salvation from sin. It applies to every other thing you receive. What defines you is not your circumstance, but what the Word of God says you are. You are not defined by the mistakes that you made in the past. It is the Word of God that defines you.
