TOPIC: LET YOUR EYES BE FIXED ON JESUS
Matthew 14 29-30 (KJV)
And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
Today’s Reading
Peter walked on the water! As long as his eyes were on Jesus, he accomplished the impossible. But the moment he took his eyes off, fear set in, and he start-
ed to drown underneath something he had already overcome. Thank God for Jesus, He reached out to him and saved him.
You see, defeat comes when you look down, distractions come when you look around, and disappointment comes when you look back. But victory comes when you look up. So, keep your eyes on Jesus. Today, if you don’t have Jesus, you are finished. This is why the scripture encourages us to look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).
Jesus is the Word, and faith comes from the Word of God. And so, He is the reason you have faith in the first place. It was at His command that Peter was able to walk on water.
But in order for the faith to produce results, your eyes must be fixed on Him. Challenges and oppositions will surely come, but when you focus on Victory Himself, then you are sure that your victory is guaranteed because Jehovah has spoken.
The only way we can fix our eyes on Jesus is to stay in the Word. This is why you should attend all church services. Both Sunday and weekday services are vitally important.
As you attend all church services, make up your mind not only to hear the word of God but to put into practice the words you hear from the pulpit. It is those who act on the Word that are blessed, not those who merely hear the Word and don’t do it.
I pray that everyone who comes in contact with you will experience the Jesus that you carry.
