WISDOM FOR THE DAY DEVOTIONAL
BY BISHOP MIKE OKONKWO
FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 4, 2026
TOPIC: LET YOUR FEAR TAKE YOU TO GOD
“O our God, wilt thou not judge them? For we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do; but our eyes are upon thee.” – 2 Chronicles 20:12 KJV
In life, one thing is for you to choose the battles you want to fight, but another thing is when the battle does not seek your permission, yet it comes, unwanted or unwarranted.
I mean, when you did not send out any invitation, and the battle chose to break into your space. You could not stop it, nor could you fast nor pray it out; it just breaks into you. At such moments, only God can help you.
If there was a time the world needed to seek God, it is now. We are in a world that is in a cup of trembling. There are all kinds of challenges everywhere, from Europe to Asia, to the Island of the Seas, Canada, North America, Central America, South America, and to the nations of Africa.
This is because the enemy has suddenly broken in on mankind. At such times, when the enemy chooses you and decides to invade your life, how do you handle such challenges?
The Bible tells us that Jehoshaphat was afraid. Sometimes, it is good to be afraid, but what you do with the fear is what counts. What you do when you are afraid determines the outcome. I thank God for Jehoshaphat; his fear drove him to God.
Beloved, you need to be vitally connected to God. “And all Judah stood before the Lord with their little ones, their wives, and their children.” – 2 Chronicles 20:13 KJV
Notice that it says everyone with no exemption. All Judah, rich and poor, big and small, white and black, illiterate and educated.
This is the time to stand before the Lord and look away from your challenges. When you look unto God, your face will be enlightened, and you will never be ashamed. It is the time to know your God. Those who know their God shall be strong and shall do exploits.
