PUT ON THE NEW MAN
By Bishop Mike Okonkwo

Thursday 19th June 2025

“and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” (Ephesians 4:23-24 KJV)

When you receive the Word and you refuse to allow your experience or your body to tell you who you are, you become transformed. It is not your behaviour that tells you who you are, it is your creator that tells you who you are. God tells you that you are My child. You can never fail. You are more than a conqueror.

The more you renew your mind with the Word of God, the more you gravitate towards fulfilling what God said. You become heaven-conscious. You now know what your rights and privileges are. The body is a slave, it will obey what you decide. That is the assignment of the body. That is why the Bible says, reckon yourself as dead to sin. You are not a sinner. You may have sinned, and you may have done something wrong, but that does not change your identity. You are still a saint as far as God is concerned because He is looking at your spirit.

When you wake up in the morning and the devil is trying to tell you to do something contrary to your identity in Christ, you will resist him, saying, no, that is not who I am. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus! I am a saint! I am sanctified! I am more than this! Talk to yourself. That is how to renew your mind. As your mind is renewed, you are able to put off the old man and put on the new man which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

The book of Romans 12:1-2 encourages you to present your body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. It went on to say that you should not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you MAY prove what the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God is.

Without mind renewal, you cannot put on the new man.
