STAY FOCUSED
By Bishop Mike Okonkwo

Friday 28th October 2022

“And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.” Genesis 41:39-40 (KJV)

In a world that is inundated with uncertainties, insecurities, natural disaster, instability, hate, violence, bloodshed and massive destruction of lives and properties; the story of Joseph speaks very loud and clear to us today. It is no longer news that we live in a world that literarily does not give hope to anyone.

The life of Joseph speaks to the present-day challenge we are encountering. You will find out when you study the life of Joseph that at the end of the day, irrespective of the challenge that he faced, the promise and the purpose of God concerning him was never truncated. So there is nothing you are going through today that is a surprise to the God.

Many are so discouraged, disgruntled, and distressed. You feel betrayed, stabbed, spat on and trampled upon. You feel so much disappointed. I want you to be encouraged because all is not lost. In the midst of your challenges, stay focused. It is time to re-strategize. It is time to dream again. Don’t be deterred! Don’t be discouraged! Dreams normally come with challenges. The reason why you met brick-walls and opposition is because where you are going is colourful. Remain focused because you are not engaged in a gun or bullet battle. It is not a battle of violence. It is a battle of mind. Don’t give room to distractions!

Joseph was so focused. And so a time came that the king of Egypt was so hopeless. He dreamt and could not interpret his dream. He was confused about the dream and no one in the entire land of Egypt was able to interpret the dream apart from Joseph.

Right now, it looks as if nothing is working. I want to assure you that God is up to something. Look beyond where you are. And begin to see yourself on the throne. God will not fail you.
