WISDOM FOR THE DAY DEVOTIONAL
BY BISHOP MIKE OKONKWO
THURSDAY 12TH FEBRUARY 2026
TOPIC: STEP OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE
“Then she left and went and gleaned in the field after the reapers. And she happened to come to the part of the field belonging to Boaz, who was of the family of Elimelech.” – Ruth 2:3 (NKJV)
Beloved, as we approach the climax of this age, the world is becoming increasingly brutal and wicked. In the midst of this, the choice of how you conduct yourself lies entirely with you. Will you stand firm, or will you conform to the ways of the world because circumstances are hard?
Yes, life can be challenging. But the question you must ask yourself is; “What can I do?” Remember, you cannot make a lasting impact by remaining in your comfort zone. True progress requires stepping out in faith.
I recently saw a video of a young woman that greatly impressed me. She works in a refuse dump, wearing shorts and rain boots, collecting recyclable scraps. Yet, she described the refuse dump as her personal “oil well.”
She saw dignity in labor, regardless of the environment. She refused to engage in immoral acts, choosing instead to work with her hands to provide for herself. While others around her compromised, she determined to live differently.
Ruth’s story mirrors this principle. Her breakthrough came when she left her comfort zone and stepped out in faith. The God we serve does not show favoritism. He honors faith, not excuses. The miracle Ruth needed did not come knocking at her door, she walked into it by taking action.
Beloved, your breakthrough will likewise require stepping out. Faith without action is incomplete. Be willing to leave your comfort zone, trust God’s provision, and step forward. When you do, you will walk into the miracles He has prepared for you.
