“For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.” – 1 Corinthians 12:12 (KJV)
Beloved, as believers, we are united as one in Christ. Regardless of our backgrounds, genders, or statuses, we are all part of the same spiritual body. “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:28)
In creation, the woman was taken from the rib of man, symbolizing her place beside him, not beneath, not above, but beside. This also points to an important principle: a woman feeds from the words that come from her husband’s mouth. And so, the question arises – Where does the man feed from? The man is meant to feed from the mouth of God.
If a man draws from the wisdom and counsel of God, he will nourish his home with truth, love, and life. But if he feeds from the lies of the enemy, then what flows through him will inevitably corrupt, hurt, and mislead. And when the woman begins to reflect what she has received from her husband, he should not be surprised or bitter; he must look inward.
Husbands, is the Word of God the final authority in your life? You can’t expect your wife to reflect divine order if you’re not aligned with the divine source. Until you submit to God, your leadership will be flawed.
Think of a car. Every part has its place and function. You can’t place the shaft where the tire should be or mount the fuel tank on the bonnet. Doing so would lead to disaster. In the same way, when we step out of our God-given roles, there will be friction, confusion, and eventually burnout. Take your place. Drink daily from God’s Word. Let His voice be your guiding compass so that what flows from your mouth builds, blesses, and brings life to everyone around you, especially your family.
