THE END IS COMING
By Bishop Mike Okonkwo

“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 (KJV)

The recent events in our world resulting from the Covid-19 Pandemic are a great eye-opener that we should meditate on. Suddenly, everything lost its value in the twinkle of an eye. If we are so overwhelmed by these events today, can you imagine what is coming when God will bring judgement upon this wicked world? If these things are happening under Grace, what do you think will happen under the disposition of God’s judgement, when there will be no opportunity to change one’s mind? It will be a shame for anyone to allow the experiences of that time to be wasted.

You need to know, however, that whatever happens, there is hope for the believer. If you have received Christ as your Lord and Saviour, then do not be hung up with all the arguments and counter-arguments about whether the world is ending or whether we are going to suffer from the world.

The scripture is very clear, though at times we complicate very simple issues. Leave complicated issues alone and zero in on what is clear in the scriptures.

Note that when the time of the end comes, the believer is going to be evacuated from this world. Yes! We are going to be evacuated. So we need to understand what is going on so that we can apply ourselves to it. We are not supposed to be distressed, confused, intimidated, and fearful like the rest of the world. The scripture tells us clearly: “To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery… which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:” (Colossians 1:27). Indeed, the world is spiraling down to an end, but for the believer, there is hope.
