TOPIC: THE SPECTACULAR CAN BE DECEPTIVE

“Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.” John 4:48 KJV

Often, when people discuss the supernatural, they focus on the spectacular. Many believers expect God to meet their needs in dramatic ways, showing Himself strong, blessing them, delivering them, or setting them free. They often associate the supernatural with dramatic displays.

However, the supernatural doesn’t always have to be spectacular. Since God is supernatural, everything about Him is supernatural. While supernatural manifestations can be spectacular, it is not always the case. It is not every time that God moves in that manner.

Knowing the truth is so important in this age and hour when there is a lot of deception all over the place. You see, the devil specialises in the spectacular because he knows that is what catches people’s attention. And as a result, we miss the supernatural, which should be the norm in our lives.

We want to see lightning and thunder! We want to hear a noise from heaven, and then a roof will open, and then God will zero in on us specifically with light; then we will know that God has spoken to us. That is how many believers want to function. That is how we want to see God move.

Beloved, there are lots of spectacular things which have nothing to do with God. If you go to an herbalist, he can show you spectacular things and tell you a lot of things that are happening around you. He will even tell you your future. And then you will submit by saying: “There is nothing wrong with it. After all, he told me what I couldn’t have known”. That is deception!

The enemy can perform what looks like a miracle, but at the end of it, you will suffer the consequences. Whatever the devil does, in all instances, does not last.

If the devil gives you money, he is coming after that money. It must be conditional, there are some conditions you must meet in order to sustain and keep that money, and so goes many other things. So let’s be careful!
