THERE IS A FUTURE GLORY
By Bishop Mike Okonkwo

Friday 7th July 2023

“Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.” Romans 8:18 (NLT)

This world is spiraling downwards. It is decaying and it is headed for destruction. It is happening because of the sin of Adam. This world as we know it is headed for corruption. This world will not inherit the kingdom of God. No matter how beautiful the things you are seeing in the world are today, they will never inherit the kingdom of God. All will be destroyed. However, the wickedness of man will continue to increase until we climax the age when everything will be destroyed, and the saints of God will be taken away by the Lord Himself.

Even your mortal body is headed for decay. That is why it gets sick. It is in pain. It gets distressed. It is sometimes discouraged and depressed. All these are signs of decay. Nevertheless, there is a greater and eternal glory waiting for you. “Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,”. (1 Corinthians 15:51 KJV)

All these conditions that we go through here will all end here. They will not go to heaven with us.

“And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us.” (Romans 8:23 NLT)

New bodies are waiting for you. This is the hope of the believer. The hope is that everything is not ending here. No. We are on a journey here on earth. Some of us right now are at the airport and eating in restaurants and other things. Some of us have obtained our boarding passes. And some are at the departure lounge waiting for their flights to be called. Whichever state you are in, rejoice knowing that it does not all end here.
