WHERE IS THE LORD GOD OF ELIJAH?

“And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the LORD God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over.” 2 Kings 2:14 KJV

When the chariot took Elijah away, Elisha cried out, ‘My father, my father.’ In other words, I am connected to this anointing. This shows that there was a father-son relationship between Elijah and Elisha. Remember that it was God that connected them. It was God that told Elijah to go and lay his mantle on Elisha to be a prophet in his place. Elijah did not give birth to Elisha. He was not his natural father. It is a spiritual thing. No wonder he was able to part the waters.

He cried out: ‘My father, my father!’ And when the obstacle came, he said; ‘where is the Lord God of Elijah?’ There is something we can learn from Elisha’s relationship with Elijah.
Before Elijah was taken up to heaven in a chariot of fire, Elisha knew that Elijah was going to be taken away by the Father. All the sons of the Prophet that were there were trying to discourage Elisha from continuing with Elijah. They were trying to break the connection between him and Elijah. They said all manner of things to him. But Elisha remained focused and unmoved. Elisha kept saying to them, “shut your mouth, don’t disconnect me, because I know that God connected me here. And I know what I am looking for”.

The problem is that we are too easily moved by what people say. We get easily distracted by the opinions of others. Consequently, it is a struggle for many to maintain divine connectivity with their spiritual father. You see, when the enemy wants to stall your movement, your progress and your advancement in life; first of all he disconnects you, he proceeds to isolate you, then he kills you. There are blessings that are naturally yours without struggle, when you position yourself strategically the way you ought to.
