YOU HAVE AN ADVERSARY
By Bishop Mike Okonkwo

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” 1 Peter 5:8 (KJV)

We have an adversary and so we must look into our secret place where we find the mercy of God. Every believer in Christ has an adversary. The adversary, the devil is still loose on the earth. He is at work, right now in the nations of the world. Paul speaks concerning this adversary in 1 Corinthians 16:9; “for a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries”. Not few, many!

Right now, all over the world, we have many adversaries. People are overwhelmed! There are challenges here and there. How are you going to escape the adversaries around the world? There is a hindering spirit trying to stop what God purposed for you. Paul says in 1 Thessalonians 2:18; “wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us” That is why you need the grace of God. A hindering spirit from the very pit of hell wants to stop you from achieving all the projections you have made concerning your business, your academic life, your family, and your ministry.

There is an adversary who has zeroed in on you. He is assigned specifically to take you out. But the devil is a liar! He cannot abort God’s destiny for your life. Your assignment is to resist him. How do we resist him? Resist him steadfast in the word! The word is your secret place. And you are not alone. Some people are going through the same afflictions that you are going through. Also, some are bouncing back, and you are in the number.

Put yourself in the word. Find yourself in the word and hide there. Let God speak to you right there in the word of the spirit. Submit yourself to God, and then resist the devil. He will not flee from you if you don’t submit yourself to the word. That is why it is important that you submit yourself to God.
