TOPIC: YOUR SALVATION IS A GIFT

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.” Ephesians 2:8 KJV

Some people present the gospel wrongly. They tell you: Yes, you are saved, but you are not truly saved until you work it out. If our salvation in Christ, our life in Christ, and our final destination with Christ in heaven are not predicated on Grace, then we are doomed. It is all about grace.

We are saved by grace through faith. Even the faith with which you got saved was not your own; it is the gift of God, lest any man should boast. God does not want you to boast about anything. You didn’t start this faith journey. Your salvation was not your idea. How dare you think you can package it?

People say I found the Lord. No, you didn’t find Him; He found you. You were the one who was lost. Your salvation is the gift of God. The book of Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death”…” But that is not the end. That scripture goes further to say, “but the free gift of God is Eternal life.”
Why are we leaving the gift side? Yes, the wages of sin is death, but God gave me a gift. It is called eternal life. If you are in Christ, you already have eternal life.

Stop looking at yourself and start seeing your identity in Christ. Your true image is Christ. That is why God put you in Christ. When you begin to look at the way you are and the way you behave, you are looking at the wrong person. Yes, you committed sin, but that is not your image. As long as you are looking at that, you will keep on sinning.

That is why you should declare to yourself, I am the righteousness of God in Christ. I stand right always before God. There is no time I stand wrong. Why? Because He gave me that gift. Not because I worked for it, nor because I merited or deserved it. He gave it to me by Himself.
