TOPIC: YOUR SALVATION IS GUARANTEED
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 KJV
Beloved, what is it that makes you a Christian or born again? You are a Christian simply because you have received Christ into your life as Lord and Saviour. According to the scripture, all you need to do to be saved is to believe.
The scripture doesn’t say whosoever believes and then makes sure he does good. That is what we preachers have added to it. They will say, I know you have believed, but we want to know whether you are truly a believer. After you are saved, they say, keep him there, let us be observing him to know whether he is truly saved. And so, we classify who is saved and who is not saved.
If only you can understand the assurance of your salvation based on the scriptures, then your Christianity and victory in life will fly.
I know that often times religious people quote from Philippians 2:12; “Wherefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” (KJV).
They tell you, you had better work it out. Make sure you work it out with trembling and fear, so that you don’t end up in hell. But that is not where it stopped. Verse 13 says, “For it is God which worketh in you, both to will and to do of His good pleasure.”(KJV).
So, you see that! We have nothing to do with it. It is God who does the work. Your assignment is to believe. That is all the work you need to do. When you believe what has been done, the Holy Spirit takes it over from there.
Beloved, all you need to be saved is to receive Jesus. If you know you have received Jesus, then be assured that we shall see in heaven. Don’t be afraid.
