ACKNOWLEDGE HIS PREEMINENCE

“And He is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things He might have preeminence”. Colossians 1:18 (KJV)

Not too long ago, one of my sons, having looked at the events in the world today said to me: “Please let Jesus come quickly”. Before you laugh, be true to yourself, have you not said the same thing too? Don’t pray for rapture, God knows when it will happen, He does not need your prayer for rapture to take place. When believers are praying for rapture, they are looking for an escape route – a fire brigade approach to get out of the world quickly. Beloved, that is not God’s plan. The saints of God are not going to leave as a ragtag army – an army that has been beaten up, tired and defeated. God is not coming for a church that has been defeated and almost killed in battle. Rapture is not an escape for a beaten church.

Many times, we tolerate everything in our lives and think that it is normal. No, it’s not! This world system is spiralling downwards and it is not going to get any better as far as the world system is concerned. But hear the prayer of Jesus in John 17:15: “I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil”. So, if you are praying that God should take you quickly out of the world, you need to read your bible again.

If God is leaving you in the world, that is proof that you have all that it takes to succeed. However, it will not fall on you like a bag of cherries. You must acknowledge and enforce it. Enforce the victory that has been wrought in Christ for you. Do you know what preeminence means? It is to be number one. The pre-eminence of Jesus is not limited to a certain area of life. His preeminence is in ALL things. What is challenging you today? Stand your ground and experience the victory Jesus paid for.
