WISDOM FOR THE DAY DEVOTIONAL

TOPIC: EVERYTHING HAS BEEN PAID FOR
“Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.” – Hebrews 9:12 (NKJV)
Beloved, the glory that the Old Testament saints experienced was the glory of “do good, get good; do bad, get bad.” Their standing before God was based entirely on their performance. But under the Covenant of Grace, the glory we now enjoy is not dependent on what we do, it is based entirely on what Christ has done.
The prophets of old looked into the future and were puzzled. They wondered, “Who are these people that God is speaking about? Lord, this doesn’t seem fair! You dealt with us according to our actions, when we did good, we received good; when we did bad, we were judged. But these people You are describing, who are they?”
And God replied, “They are the people whose mess I Myself have paid for.”
Beloved, the greatest honour you can give to God is to accept your acceptance. Accept the fact that He has already accepted you. Accept that the price has been fully paid. Don’t try to reason it out; just believe it, receive it, and walk in it.
The prophets still wondered, “But Lord, You said, ‘The soul that sins shall die.’ Why won’t these ones die for their sins?” And God said, “I have introduced a new order. The old system could not make men perfect, so I set it aside. Now, I have brought in a new and living way. I Myself will pay the price. I will die in their place so that I might be both just and the justifier of the ungodly.”
And when Jesus hung on the cross and gave up the ghost, the devil thought he had won. He celebrated, thinking the story had ended. But what he didn’t realize was that there was already a divine mechanism within Christ, the power of resurrection, ready to activate total liberation for humanity!
Now, because of what Jesus has done, you are completely free. You cannot fail, because your victory has already been secured. You cannot live under condemnation, because your debt has been fully paid. You cannot be sick, stranded, or poor again, because the blood of Jesus has obtained eternal redemption for you.
Walk boldly in this reality. Everything about you has been paid for — once and for all!
