FIGHT THE FIGHT OF REST
By Bishop Mike Okonkwo

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.” 1 Timothy 6:12 (KJV)

The victory is already won! Yours is to sit at the table and take the spoil. That is your assignment. But if you fail to know the scripture, you will not be able to walk in the totality of your victory. When you fail to know the scripture, you will be agitated.

You see, we are not called to fight. Lots of believers are stressed up because they are fighting a fight they were not called into. But Brother Mike, don’t you know we have to fight? No! The bible says fight the good fight of faith. The fight we are involved in, is a fight of faith. It is a fight of standing. It is a fight of rest. It is a fight from the position that the victory is already won. We fight from victory, not from failure. That is what Christ has done for us. It is a representative battle.

You are not called to fight; you are called to take the spoil. What is spoil? Spoil means the pay or the plunder. I am excited about that! There is spoil that has been packaged for you. There is a plunder that has been packaged for you. The enemy will not rob you of your portion.

So, our fight is a fight of victory. In the book of Hebrew 4:11, we are told that we should labor to enter into rest. So don’t be stressed up. Don’t struggle. Rest. How can you say you are a believer in Christ and yet you are stressed up, why are you stressed up as if God has vacated His throne? God is sitting down and laughing at the devil. There are no surprises that the devil can give to God.

Ever before he arrives, God is already there. In the beginning God. God is the creator of the heaven and earth. Fight the fight of rest and not the fight of stress.
