WISDOM FOR THE DAY DEVOTIONAL
BY BISHOP MIKE OKONKWO

WEDNESDAY 10TH JUNE 2026

TOPIC: GRACE TEACHES

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;” Titus 2:11 -12 KJV

I’ve heard some people say: “Now that there is grace, I don’t have to obey anything. I don’t have to do anything, grace has covered me.” No! Grace teaches you to do right. Grace teaches you to love your spouse. Grace teaches you to live right without struggle. It teaches you to give without any struggle. You don’t struggle because you realise that your source is God.

You are not obedient to giving because you must, but because you want to. You want to give. You want to make sacrifices because you trust Him, and He is your source. You will give a good offering. You give your tithe. You don’t have to be policed to give. You will give because He paid the price for your redemption. So, if grace is not teaching you, then it is not grace.

No wonder Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15:10 “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” (KJV).

The grace of God made Apostle Paul labour. He did not have to, but he wanted to because he appreciated grace. He wanted to labour, so he didn’t feel it. It was not a struggle for him because he knew that it was the grace of God.

The grace of God teaches that much more than anything else, you should give now more than you have been giving. You will give more because you discovered that God is your source. Your efforts, connections, and expertise are not your source. You need to walk in this revelation. Your work is not your source. The economy of your country is not your source. Jehovah is your source!
