TOPIC: HAVE YOU SEEN THE LORD?
“In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.” Isaiah 6:1 KJV
One thing is to be born again, but another thing is to truly see the Lord and see what He has done on your behalf. Many are born again but have not been able to appreciate the value of Jesus’ sacrifice.
That was why Paul did not cease to pray for the church in Ephesus that God would give them the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, having the eyes of their hearts enlightened that they may know what is the hope to which He has called them, and what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints.
According to the Scripture, in the year king Uzziah died, Isaiah saw the Lord. Before this time, Isaiah was a Prophet called by God, and anointed for great work, but did not see the Lord. He has not come to terms with the God that called him and anointed him. So, God had to get Uzziah out of the way because Uzziah had become a God to him.
The very year he died, Prophet Isaiah saw the God who called him for the first time. Many believers love God with all their hearts but have not truly seen Him. God is not reflected in the way they do things. Most of them speak in tongues, come to church regularly, and are so committed, but they have not seen the Lord.
The next thing Isaiah said to himself in that chapter is, “I am a man of unclean lips in the midst of these people. I’m not qualified to come before you. God by himself now said, “…. your iniquity is taken away and your sins are purged.”
Immediately, something happened to him. He then heard the voice of the Lord saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” (Isaiah 6:8 NKJV). I am available, send me. I am ready!
