SALVATION IS A GIFT
By Bishop Mike Okonkwo

“Even when we were dead and doomed in our many sins, he united us into the very life of Christ and saved us by his wonderful grace!” Ephesians 2:5 (TPT)

You have a great future ahead of you. It does not matter that things may appear very dark and bleak right now, God is committed to a glorious future ahead of you. The book of Jeremiah 29:11 says: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”(Jeremiah 29:11 KJV)

When we were dead because of our sins, God gave us life. He gave us life when He raised Christ from the dead. It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved. If you are in Christ, you are alive. God raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. God is looking at our future when He will point at us and say see what I’ve done in this life as a result of the incredible wealth of my mercy and grace. See what I’ve done in that life. See I am the real McCoy! I saved them! I delivered them! He can say, I brought them up, and I raised them. He wants to showcase you. He wants to put you on the platform for all to see.

It is by grace that you are saved. And all you need to do is believe. You didn’t work for it. No effort, no struggle, just believe. And you can’t take credit for this. It is a gift of God. This life is a gift of God. Salvation is not a reward. It is not a reward you get for doing good. Not that I’m a good man, I gave money, I fasted, I prayed, or I danced. No. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done. You can’t boast about it or take credit for it. Salvation is a gift. You didn’t do anything to earn it.
