WISDOM FOR THE DAY DEVOTIONAL
BY BISHOP MIKE OKONKWO

TOPIC: THE RIGHT SEED WILL PRODUCE THE RIGHT HARVEST
“But other seed fell on good ground and yielded a crop that sprang up, increased, and produced: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.” – Mark 4:8 (NKJV)
According to Jesus, the Word of God is like a seed. The sower scatters the seed, and your heart is the soil that receives it. Therefore, it is crucial to learn how to receive the engrafted Word into your spirit. It is the Word that is properly received that produces fruit in your life.
Beloved, be open to the Holy Spirit. Be pliable in His hands so that the seed of the Word can take root and flourish in your life. You will be enriched and transformed as a result.
As the Scripture says: “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.” – Psalm 119:130 (KJV)
The gospel transforms lives when hearts are receptive. Every seed produces after its kind. This is the law of reproduction; the law of sowing and reaping. Bananas yield bananas, tomatoes yield tomatoes, and yams yield yams. You cannot harvest what you did not plant. If your life is producing something different from what you’ve sown, something is wrong.
The right seed always produces the right harvest. That is why it is important to pay careful attention to the seed you allow into the soil of your heart.
Jesus also warned: “Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.” – Mark 4:24 (KJV)
One of the challenges of modern Christianity is the proliferation of teachings that are inconsistent with Scripture. Any teaching that is not biblical cannot transform or establish a life.
If society is declining despite the large number of churches, we must re-examine the seed being sown in people’s hearts. The right seed will always produce the right harvest.
