TOPIC: THE TRINITY IN REDEMPTION
“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” 1 John 5:7 KJV
Our Lord Jesus Christ said, “If you have seen me, you have seen the Father, because I and the Father are one” (John 14:9). You cannot differentiate between Jesus and God. The Trinity consists of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who are one.
The Trinity manifests in redemption: God in creation, Jesus in redemption, and the Holy Spirit in regeneration and transformation. The same God exists in three persons.
This is how it works: God dwells in light that no one can approach. No man has ever seen God, and no man will see Him. Yet, He desired to save man and reveal Himself. Since His light is unapproachable, He found a way to relate with humans.
Like a step-down transformer, God stepped down in Jesus to connect with man. If He hadn’t, He wouldn’t be able to touch, feel, or understand human thoughts and reasoning. Jesus is God’s step-down to humanity.
So, Jesus is not less than God; He is still God, but He stepped down to redeem man. He had to step down to be just and faithful in redeeming humanity. He died as a man, was buried as a man, and rose triumphant over death, hell, and the grave on the third day.
Before leaving, the disciples felt like orphans, asking about their hope. Jesus said it was better for Him to go, promising to send another Comforter, the Holy Spirit, a standby helper like Himself. This time, the Holy Spirit wouldn’t just work alongside them but would dwell inside them, accompanying them everywhere.
You are never alone! The Holy Spirit is your Comforter, Advocate, Standby, Strengthener, Helper, Teacher, Intercessor, and Counsellor. He knows what to do in any situation. So, you are never an orphan. He is always with you, which is why Jesus said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5 KJV). You are never alone. No matter how dark and rough the path seems, rest assured that you are not alone.
