TOPIC: THE WORD OF GOD IS THE ACID TEST
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalms 119:105 KJV
When people fail to understand how God functions, they become susceptible to deception and open themselves wide to the adversary’s destructive influence.
These days, my heart bleeds when I see many Christians who, due to long-standing conditions, believe it is alright to try something else and go somewhere else that contradicts God’s Word.
They are seeking alternative solutions because they are not seeing immediate results, forgetting that God cannot contradict Himself.
There are many people in word-based churches who drift away from the truth when faced with pressure, obstacles, and delays. The book of Matthew 22:29 says, “Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.” (KJV). He emphasised that the reason for error and deception is not knowing the Scriptures and the power of God.
It is not because God is powerless, but because many lack understanding of His Word and His might. The reason the enemy has held believers captive is that they do not know the scripture nor the power of God. The reason why some believers run from pillar to post and some even enter places they are ordinarily not supposed to go is a lack of understanding of the scripture.
You will be amazed at some who quit and gave up simply because of a delay. Delay is not denial. Just because something is delayed doesn’t mean it won’t happen. It is about timing. So we must understand God’s timing.
Ignorance of the Scriptures leads to error. Without knowing God’s promises, assurances, and your position in Him, you’ll go astray. This is a challenge the church faces in these last days.
It is therefore important to stay rooted in a Word-based church and keep your focus on God’s Word. The only way to discern the truth from falsehood is to validate it using God’s Word. Anything the Word cannot validate can never be the truth. The Word is the acid test for anything, regardless of manifestations. God’s Word is the ultimate benchmark for determining truth.
