TOPIC: THERE WILL ALWAYS BE OPPORTUNITY TO DO THE WRONG THING

“Then Abishai said to David, ‘God has delivered your enemy into your hand this day. Now therefore, please, let me strike him at once with the spear, right to the earth; and I will not have to strike him a second time!’” – 1 Samuel 26:8 (NKJV)

Beloved, be careful whose counsel you listen to. Not every advice is godly, and not every counsellor is sent by God. Scripture warns us, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly…” – Psalm 1:1 (KJV).
Every counsel you receive should be weighed carefully in the light of God’s Word. Never accept advice simply because it seems to work in your favor. The right question is not, “Will this benefit me?” but “What does God want?” Even under pressure, your ultimate concern must always be to please God.

David faced this same test. His men urged him to take advantage of what looked like a divine opportunity. “God has delivered your enemy into your hand this day,” they said. But David discerned that not every open door is from God. He responded, “Destroy him not: for who can stretch forth his hand against the LORD’s anointed, and be guiltless?” – 1 Samuel 26:9 (KJV).
On your journey toward destiny, there will always be chances to do the wrong thing. Temptations will come, sometimes disguised as blessings or opportunities. No one is exempt. There will be moments when you can choose dishonesty, compromise, or immorality. If your heart is not right, you will yield.

There will be opportunities to steal, to manipulate, or to betray trust. There will be people, even close companions, who will encourage you to take shortcuts or act in haste. As a leader or believer, you may even face moments when others offer temptation in the most subtle forms. These tests are not about the situation, they are about the condition of your heart.
So, guard your heart and remain steadfast. Refuse to let the enemy derail your destiny through ungodly counsel. Choose integrity over convenience, righteousness over advantage, and obedience over opinion.

When your heart is set on doing what pleases God, no amount of pressure or persuasion will move you from His will.
