TOPIC: TRUST IN THE LORD
“Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?” Matthew 6:31 (KJV)
Beloved, everywhere I look, and in conversations with many people, including believers, I see fear and anxiety. I’m not referring to casual or nominal Christians, but even those who are grounded in faith. It seems that some believers have subscribed to an app called panic, worry, or anxiety, and it activates at the slightest challenge.
“What will I eat tomorrow?”
“I am already 50 and I don’t have a building, a roof over my head, or a child.”
“My marriage is struggling, how will I survive?”
These fears dominate their thoughts. Anxiety has become so common that hospitals are filled with people battling high blood pressure and stress-related illnesses.
But hear what Jesus said: “Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?” – (Matthew 6:25 NKJV). He spoke metaphorically, reminding us that life is far greater than our basic needs. He was essentially asking: “Did I leave the throne of heaven to die so you would only worry about food, clothes, or possessions?”
Jesus went on to illustrate His point: “Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?” – (Matthew 6:26 KJV).
Beloved, you are far more valuable than anything else in creation. Jesus paid the supreme price for your redemption. He counted you worthy. Your value has been dignified by heaven itself. Trust Him; He will not let you be stranded.
Before you were even born, your Heavenly Father already knew your needs. He knows the food you will eat, the clothes you will wear, the shelter you require, and even the spouse He has prepared for you. You are fully provided for.
Put your trust in Him, and watch Him supply every need according to His riches in glory.
