WISDOM FOR THE DAY DEVOTIONAL
By Bishop Mike Okonkwo

TUESDAY JUNE 2nd 2026

TOPIC: TRUST IN THE LORD

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” Isaiah 26:3 KJV

You will be peaceful when your mind is stayed on God. This means you will be at rest. It means you will have joyful confident expectation in Christ. What you are expecting may not have happened, but you are very sure it will happen.

Beloved, do not put your trust in man. Do not deify any man. You can reference and respect Men of God, but they are not your God. They did not die for you. It is Jesus who died for you. One of the things that the Lord is emphasizing in these last days in His church is that man should not be deified. The owner of the church wants to take over His Church.

Christians miss what God is doing in their midst because of a wrong focus. You see, anytime you become discouraged or your peace leaves you, watch out, you have let go of the Word of God.

Be equipped and strengthened so that you can become who God has ordained you to be.  It is not every time that the man of God is there with you. At times, you find yourself alone in the battle ring, and that is when we will know the stuff you are made of.

You must realize that we are still here in this world. The battle is raging, and it is real. The devil is an oppressor by nature. He will not let you go simply because God has made a promise to you. He will not play dead, no! But when he understands that you know who you are in Christ, then he backs off.

I encourage you to pray and believe God for yourself. Refuse to accept that there is any power greater than the name of Jesus. He is bigger than the biggest, higher than the highest, and greater than the greatest. He can be trusted!
