WISDOM FOR THE DAY DEVOTIONAL

TOPIC: YOU ARE CALLED TO REIGN
“For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.” – Romans 5:17 (KJV)
Beloved, as a believer, you are never wrong before God. Yes, you may still make mistakes. Yes, you may have struggles. But your mistakes do not change your standing with God.
You are always in right standing with Him because your righteousness is not based on what you do, it is based on what Christ has done. Even when you fall short, you are still not wrong before God. That is the beauty of the gospel!
The gospel truly is too good to be true, yet it is true. That’s why it’s called the Good News. Many find it hard to accept because it defies human logic. They believe that they must earn God’s approval through works, but the gospel declares that acceptance is a gift, freely given through Jesus Christ.
Even when you fail, God still says to you, “You are accepted.” Those who don’t understand grace may argue, “No, you must make yourself right first.” But that’s not how the kingdom works. You don’t work to become righteous, you receive righteousness as a gift. And when you receive it, it begins to manifest in your life.
The New Testament believer is called to reign in life through Jesus Christ. To reign means to exercise dominion and authority over life’s circumstances, but to do that, you must first receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness. You must see yourself as righteous, not by your performance, but by His finished work.
Beloved, renew your mind. There are belief systems you must let go of, thoughts that make you see yourself as unworthy or condemned. If you don’t, you may be a Christian yet live in defeat and bondage. But that’s not your portion!
You have been made righteous by Christ Jesus. You have received abundance of grace to reign over sin, fear, lack, and every limitation. The Lord Himself will perfect every good work He has begun in your life, and your destiny will not be cut short.
You are empowered to reign in life, boldly, freely, and victoriously through Christ Jesus!
