“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 3:18 KJV
Your true identity in Christ Jesus cannot be shaken by any experience. The book of Hebrews 1:1-3 says: “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high. (KJV).
The word of God carries power and has the capacity to produce what it says. The scripture mentions that our sins have been purged, meaning it is already done. Therefore, calling yourself a sinner is an insult to God. You’re a son of God, and your identity remains unchanged even when you sin.
Just as wearing white pants in a mechanic’s workshop doesn’t make you a mechanic, coming into contact with sin doesn’t change your identity. You’ve been purged, washed, and made righteous in Christ. Be righteousness-conscious, not sin-conscious. Approach God with confidence, knowing Jesus makes you right with Him.
The scripture tells us that we are being transformed into the image of Christ, a process that leads to ever-increasing glory, empowered by the Holy Spirit.
“…You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.” (1 Peter 2:9-10 NKJV)
Beloved, this is who you are! Who you are in Christ is intact; nothing can change it.
