HANDLING SEASON OF ADVERSITY

“After these things did king Ahasuerus promote Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him, and set his seat above all the princes that were with him.”
Esther 3:1
Mordecai sat at the king’s gate. He was Queen Esther’s uncle. Esther had been chosen and had become the first lady. They were captives, but God moved supernaturally and positioned Esther as the queen.
Two of the king’s servants, Bigthan and Teresh were wroth (intensely angry) with the king and they decided that they were going to assassinate him. Mordecai got to know and he informed Esther; Esther informed the king in Mordecai’s name. I hope you understand what is going on here. Mordecai exposed those who wanted to assassinate the king; they investigated and found out that it was true and the conspirators were executed.
After these things one would have thought that Mordecai would be promoted, however, someone else was promoted. The king, rather than promote the man that saved his life decided to promote his enemy. How do you handle such a situation? Beloved, one of the things you must learn as a child of God is to understand that in times of adversity or challenges; God does not abandon you. He is with you.
Eventually, Mordecai was supernaturally lifted and promoted. But my point is to show you that when you walk in the pathway of integrity and pleasing God; at times those pathways are plastered with thorns, difficulties and challenges. It is not because God cannot remove them but they are meant to strengthen you. So just walk through it because you will go through it and arrive on the other side. He said that when you pass through the waters it shall not overflow you and through the fire, it shall not burn you neither shall the flames be kindled against you. He didn’t say when you stay there! You will walk through it. Some of you are already walking through challenges. Don’t fret! Walk through it! You will get to the other side.
